Michael Le Many of JJJJound‘s sneaker collaborations are offered well outside the reaches of their Montreal-based studio. That, however, is not quite the case for their upcoming 990v3, whose colorway and release is dedicated to the brand’s founding city.
Deceptively simple much like many of their collaborative works, this upcoming JJJJound x New Balance 990v3 is an ode to Montreal, where Justin Saunders founded the mood-board-turned-design-studio around 16 years ago. The pair’s tonal brown colorway and subtle textural contrast is reflective of the city itself, mirroring the tones prevalent throughout its streets and buildings. And is custom for many of their NBs, the brand has applied light creams to the silhouette’s midsole and laces and “JJJJound” branding across both the heel and sockliner.
For a closer, detailed look at the JJJJound x New Balance 990v3 “Montreal,” see below. Exclusively available to customers in Montreal, the collaboration is set to release on November 25th at 12PM ET; following purchase, pairs can be picked up at an upcoming installation located in the city.
