Jovani Hernandez The Air Jordan 2 has had a stellar 2022, in particular when taking into account its lack of retros since 1986 relative to some of its other Jordan Brand counterparts. The model’s slew of retros is reportedly set to continue into the next year.
Recently, a “Black Cement” mock-up surfaced on Instagram, promising old and new fans of Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore’s Air Jordan design in a “Black/Grey/Fire Red/Sail” color combination inspired by the Air Jordan 3. While unconfirmed, the upcoming sneakers are expected to feature a pitch-dark upper comprised of suede and leather, with contrast arriving at the spine, eyelets, and overlay trims. “NIKE” and “Wings” logo on the heel and tongue, respectively, indulge in “Fire Red” flair, just as part of the outsole underfoot. Midsole cushioning is also expected to take on an “aged” look accomplished by a “Sail” tone.
No firm release dates have been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change in the second-half of 2023. In the meantime, enjoy an early mock-up by Instagram user @zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files ahead.
