Jared Ebanks Coining the widely-regarded “Kiss My Airs” term as a part of their 2017 Air Max Day campaign and subsequent 30th anniversary of the cushioning technology, Nike’s celebratory Air Max pack has been harkened in full force for the new year, including this Nike Air Max 95.
Connected through its use of safari print panels, the 1995 silhouette joins its Air Max Plus and AM 97 counterparts while sampling embellishments from both propositions. Coating the porous print across its mudguard and sectioned overlays of the midfoot, a varying collection of greyscale hues explore across the latter jutting out from its clad-black sole unit. Finishing its tonal transition with crisp white mesh and its presiding tongue construction, a seldom black mesh quarter accents the upper’s near-colorless build – save the “Royal” accents lining the lace loops and tongue tab. Amidst the dominant monochrome aesthetic, further titular representation renders neon mini Swooshes in tandem with the sectioned tread underfoot while the full-length Air Max cushioning system is split to attribute the pair’s duo of tones.
