fragment design and CLOT have long been bridging the gap between East and West. In 2019, both institutions teamed up on a silk-covered series of Air Force 1’s, which may have given way for a rumored upcoming Nike Dunk Low collaboration.
Firm details about the three-way linkup haven’t been disclosed by official channels. Yet, there’s precedence to believe the newly-surfaced rumor. An early photo of the pair reveals “FRGMT” branding at the spine in a black tone. Surroundings feature a fabric covered in abstract patterns. Furthermore, the shoe seemingly takes on a simple off white and black color combination, a design choice that matches past work from both brands. Insoles are stamped with special co-branding marking CLOT’s 20th anniversary.
The last year has seen the Nike Dunk become readily available, with some styles sitting well-past release date. Production cycles for sneakers are typically 18 months long. Therefore, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Edison Chen’s next Swoosh project could have been in the works since August 2021. Fervor around the Dunk isn’t what it was in late 2021, but fragment and CLOT have the potential to reenergize the iconic silhouette. If rumors of a low-top shoe are true, it’s possible a High will follow at a later date.
Enjoy an extremely early look at part of the pair ahead, and stay tuned for updates.
