Part of Brand Jordan’s “College Collection,” the retro is covered in rich “University Blue” flair. Akin to past offerings from the Air Jordan series, the latest take on Tinker Hatfield’s iconic design from 1990 features a special tag on the heel, nodding to apparel from the past. Details throughout the upper play supporting roles to the University of North Carolina-friendly blue that animates most of the shoe. Midsoles opt for stark “Black” contrast, while select zones across the tread favor a semi-translucent, icy blue finish. Lastly, the inner lining favors a non-standard finish that works in-tandem with the “SOUL” and “HEART” messaging on the tongues’ undersides in further expanding the Jordan 5‘s legacy.
