Anuel AA has remained a staple within the sphere of international trap/reggaeton since the early 2010s. Fresh off the heels of two collaborative capsules featuring the Reebok Question Mid, Classic Leather and Omni Zone 2 inspired by the Caribbean sky, the Carolina, PR native will now continue to serve as a bridge between the Boston-based brand and the Puerto Rican rap scene via his recently announced long-term partnership with the brand.
Revealed on stage Sunday night during his “Legends Never Die” show at Madison Square Garden, the creative partnership has been confirmed to include a range of product design, activations, special projects and more featuring the life-long Reebok fan. The first collaborative effort from the two entities’ newfound union will most likely be anchored in homage to his Puerto Rican home.
“As a lifelong fan of Reebok, becoming part of the brand is a dream come true,” Anuel AA said. “I have long admired Reebok’s unique designs and iconic roster of collaborators who have never shied away from writing their own rules. It’s a special feeling to know that I’m considered a member of the team and that they not only believe in me but give me the space for unbridled creative expression. I am so honored to be a part of this brand’s legacy and help shape its next chapter.”
For decades Reebok has held a long-standing relationship with the hip-hop ecosystem, tapping into Jay-Z’s meteoric rise with the S. Carter in ’03 – which went on to become one of the brand’s fastest-selling silhouettes. While specific details of Anuel’s deal have yet to be disclosed, stay tuned for Reebok’s latest development within the music space.
For more in the realm of upcoming collaborations, the Born X Raised x Nike SB Dunk Low is scheduled to release on July 20th.
