END. Clothing is no stranger to collaborations, but its latest adidas Samba “Past” has the title of “Winner of the inaugural adidas Consortium Cup.”
Back in February, the Three Stripes announced a four-week sneaker design competition that featured participants from across the globe. END. went foot-to-foot with Hanon in the first round of the Consortium Cup, which focused on three different adidas Originals models. The British institution landed on the ever-popular Samba, outfitting it in a number of decorative materials. As the brand tells it, the use of non-standard materials across the upper, as well as the tapestry-inspired patterns throughout the shoe, nod to the past. Fray detailing at the profile 3-Stripes injects a “do-it-yourself” aesthetic into the collaboration, further setting it apart form traditional styles.
END.’s adidas Samba “Past” is clad in simple “Ecru Tint” and “Magic Beige” tones. Components across the mid-foot, Achilles’ Heel, and sockliners, however, deviate in a mix of hues rooted in old school wares. “Metallic Gold” co-branding appears on the top of the tongue, bringing another special, bespoke-like element to the Consortium Cup winner. Underfoot, the football silhouette keeps things classic with a gum brown finish.
Enjoy detailed photos of the collaborative pair ahead. The Samba “Past” by END. arrives via the END. Launches program on November 23rd. The draw closes on Wednesday, November 22nd, at 12:01am BST (6:01pm EST). Limited pairs will be available on a “first come, first served” basis on the day of launch at END. Glasgow, Soho, Manchester and Milano. The sneaker is priced at £109 (approximately $135 USD).
