Bleach Unveils ASICS Collaboration During New York Comic Con

All eyes are on the world of comics as New York Comic Con kicks off with a four-day event through the weekend. Amidst the heightened attention to the culture, Japanese anime Bleach celebrates its 20th Anniversary as well as the premiere of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Conflict with a collaboration with ASICS, offering up two familiar takes on the brand’s foremost silhouettes exclusively at Foot Locker.

Starting off the two-pair project is an ASICS GT-2160 inspired by the main protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki. Decorated in a black, orange, and white colorway, this GT-2160 design mimics the primary attire worn by Ichigo with references to his bright orange hair. His name is printed in Japanese characters on the lateral side of the right shoe.

Next up is the ASICS GEL-NYC, doused in a red/gold colorway inspired by main character Renji Abarai; the upper ovlay is built with soft red suedes, while a golden/tan overlay covers the heel and mid-foot logo where a black suede finishes off the lace collar and tongue. On the heel are two symbols that represent the 6th Division of the Goeti 13, for which Renji serves.

With its roots in Japan, ASICS has dabbled in several partnerships with iconic anime programs; earlier this year came the release of the Naruto ASICS GEL-NYC, while its broader appreciation for the world of illustrated literature arrived via the Marvel x Kith collection.

Release info, confirmed with Sneaker News by Foot Locker is as follows; the shoes will release at select Foot Locker locations this Holiday 2024 season, with a select number of pairs being available during New York Comic Con.
