Nike Modifies The Air Force 1 To Feature Ribbon Heel-Tabs

A hardier build for the top of 2025.

Nike Modifies The Air Force 1 To Feature Ribbon Heel-Tabs

As we look ahead to 45 years of the Air Force 1, the model has been flipped, remixed, and redone in nearly every manner imaginable. However, even if some of the hardware changes that hit the market on a consistent basis have clear precedent, it also means an inherent familiarity that makes their offshoots more likely to land. The latest Air Force 1 update brings a middle ground between utility and sporty, coming at you towards the top of 2025.

Like we mention in the title, the chief retooling here is the addition of 3M lined pull tabs at the heel of either shoe, evoking genuine running performance wear or even retro silos like the Vomero 5. Contrast that with the ripstop material at the quarter panel, and you’ll see the dueling design languages on display in this colorway. Finally, less obviously digestible, the topmost eye-stay switches to a doubled counterpart, stretching out the lace-stay panel in the process. Though the compositional changes bring new energy, the palette is venerably classic, utilizing white accenting atop otherwise “all-white Forces.”

This Nike Air Force 1 Low is projected to hit shelves this Spring in men’s sizing. Given the hardware changes, retail pricing is unclear at the time of writing.
