Air Jordan V Low ‘Grape’ Customs

Air Jordan V Low ‘Grape’ Customs

Jordan V Low Grape Customs 13

It can be argued that the Air Jordan V ‘Grape’ is the greatest non-Bulls colorway of an Air Jordan ever created, even so much that the ‘Aqua’ that followed it in the Air Jordan VIII might be at number two. That combination of Aqua Blue and Purple has become such a significant color-scheme in the Air Jordan line despite it showing up very infrequently, and it’s become one of the most ‘attempted’ custom Air Jordans. Clearly, when done meticulously, the results are outstanding. Here’s a look at a pair of Air Jordan V Low ‘Grape’ Customs, done by ShowtimeXII of NT; finding the necessary components for this custom was no easy task, as the Air Jordan V Low was created in women’s sizes only the ShowtimeXII wears a size 12.0 in mens (but he settled for a WMNS 13.0). The tongue is undoubtedly the keynote feature of the Air Jordan V, so how would he get a ‘Grape’ tongue?  By transplanting it from a pair of Air Jordan Force Fusion V in the ‘Grape’ colorway. $105 later, all the pieces were in place – it was just a matter of getting the job done. He first replaced the tongue, then repainted the midsole exactly like the Grapes, resulting in a perfect low-top recreation of one of the greatest Air Jordans of all-time. Check out the detailed gallery of the customs as well as a step-by-step photo-journal of the process and let us know if you’d cop if these ever hit stores!
