The Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” Is Getting Clear Soles

One of the most beloved Air Jordan 1 colorways ever, the “Chicago” AJ1s have won the hearts of sneakerheads the world over with their simple and clean construction and rich back story. Since last releasing in 2015, they’ve skyrocketed in value — and prestige — and now they’re set to return later this year, in an alternate iteration complete with many new embellishments. A translucent icy blue sole replaces the standard red version, and the upper’s red leather features what appears to be a reptile-style print. The tongue tag is also slightly tweaked, as the normal red/white take is gone, replaced by an alternate blue/red. Although this modified classic may not find a great deal of favor from AJ1 purists who prefer OG styling, it’s certainly an interesting alternate take on a classic — and is slated for a release sometime this holiday season. Enjoy a first look below, stay tuned to our Jordan Release Dates page for further info as it’s available, and let us know if you’re a fan of the updated construction or not.
