Dominic Chambrone aka The Shoe Surgeon has been elevating the “custom shoe” aesthetic, one rebuild at a time. His various projects, which sees classic models get reconstructed with high-end materials, has put him at the forefront of the game, and its Friday he’ll be teaming up with the REIGN x 10 Corso Como space in NYC to launch one of his prized creations in-store. This particular re-imagination of the Air Jordan 1 takes us to Mars, with specific detailing inspired by Tom Sachs’ “Mars Yard Shoe” collaborative release with Nike. The enlarged Swoosh that dips into the midsole, the red ribbon tabs, and the mesh uppers and toes reflect an aesthetic inspired by interplanetary exploration. These will be available in limited quantity for $1,800 at REIGN x 10 Corso Como (! Fulton St.) this Friday, November 9th.
