Jovani Hernandez Nike’s proprietary Air Max 270 cushioning has been featured on several silhouettes since its March 2018 debut including the Air Max 270 Bowfin and Air Force 270 Utility. Before the chunky Air unit sees a retail debut as part of the updated-for-2020 Air Max 270 React, it will appear on yet another Air Edge 270. Launched back in April 2019, the tall silhouette features design nods to Charles Barkley’s signature line of basketball sneakers complete with a velcro strap lacing system. This forthcoming release rocks Nike’s “Obsidian” color across the modernized upper and is given a patent leather finish throughout the mudguard and other overlays. The plump Air unit has been dressed up in a lighter shade of navy and sits just below the “Laser Red” that takes over branding at the heel.
