Michael Le Collaborative in quantity, Nike France enlists a number of creatives to take on the task of dressing the Air Max 1, Air Max 97, and the Air Max 90 through the newly invented and refined Nike By You platform. Each their own unique perspective to offer, the series delves into the minds of 21 individuals, some infusing color as a sense of personal inspiration while others effectively turn their culture tangible with a considered use of color.
All nicknamed alongside, the expansive pack is marked by all the makings of a full-fledged partnership though likely done within the comforts of total social distance. Rohan Mirza, the ostensible lead as the first seat, crafts his “MUTATION” Air Max 1 which effectively recounts the transition of fashion that occurred in the 90s. In distinct and technology-marked departure, collective OBVIOUS fed AI with a number of different sneakers for it to produce their red clad “AI INSPIRED” Air Max 97. Fueled more so by observation, Salimata, a young sportswomen with more than 10 years experience, uses her “HARMONY 2K” Air Max 90 to embody the ethos of the Parisian city, the sports field, and the female component that runs within the veins of both. Much more is at display here, including the poignant “AIR BEES” as well as the supportive, inspirational “KEEP GOING” AM90, but each is better witnessed than explained.
