Ever since the start of 2020, Reebok has begun to take a more considered approach to their collaborations — the brand often selecting the best of the best in both fashion as well as art. And while they’ve been especially busy with KANGHYUK, the revived Kamikaze, and many other projects, the footwear purveyor has still allotted time to VETEMENTS and their forthcoming series of new collaborative works. A black scribble-adorned Instapump Fury was seen not too long ago, and as teased via the label’s social media today, the silhouette will be undergoing a much more artistic look very soon.
Dubbed “THE MASTERPIECE,” the pair very effectively aligns with the eclectic VETEMENTS ethos though appropriately censored of the overt parody seen many a time prior. The model’s base, though near entirely shrouded in a mess of thick paint splatters, seems to make use of a seemingly ordinary white colorway whose unblemished spots reveal bits of black text. Possibly an unreleased variant or unsold stock underneath, the newly applied coat of red, yellow, blue, and green markings make for something entirely new that will likely deliver unique variations. Obviously done by hand as every part is evident of, the linings, heel tabs, and very few parts of the tongue look to be intentionally reserved of multiple coats; the midsole and toe box, however, receive the brunt in contrast.
Take a look at these close-up here and expect to see a release before the end of the year.
In other news, a KICKS LAB adidas Campus was just revealed.
