With all the buzz around New Balance in recent years, the brand’s former “The Intelligence Choice” slogan seems to be truer than ever. Mixing the old with the new, NB embraces this retro phrase in full glory on one of its latest models—the New Balance 327—in two versatile colorways.
Last seen on hoodies from a collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore, the serif-font text returns, via a pattern of repeated logos that nearly covers the entire lateral sides of both offerings. The “Outerspace” pair has the pattern printed on navy textile uppers while the “Olive” pair sees the print on grey textile. Grey suede overlays and a light blue oversized “N” are also visible on the “Outerspace” pair. An orange nylon strap runs down the tongue for a touch of vibrancy. As for the other iteration, olive suedes, a black “N”, and neon green nylon webbing are used. Both colorways are complete with a rugged ’70s inspired outsole to deliver textured grip.
The pair is available now at select retailers in Canada and Europe such as Capsule for about $90 USD.
