However unfortunate, the first thing that comes to most people’s minds when hearing ‘New Jersey’ these days, is the cast of MTV’s massive hit reality show. That situation might change, cos Nike SB has something special planned for this summer that brings together some of the region’s key influences.
The Nike SB Dunk High NJ/USA appears to be a take-off on the iconic cover from Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 album, Born in the USA. This pair of SB Dunk Highs goes with a darker denim than what the Boss was wearing, but the striped rear panel clearly echoes that photo’s American flag background. So by using black, Nike SB managed to make a shoe that’s ‘patriotic’ without going the cheesy route. It’s about muthaF’n X! Dunk SB! Finally, aside from the year of the tiger dunks, these actually measure up. I forgot about them, saw them a while ago. I’m definately coppin for me and my boy. Imma big fan of dunks and sb dunks especially. My son’s birthday is on the 4th, I think imma :_)…

@Steven. I would not classify the Knicks in the “dope” category. Or even the Gucci’s which were more of a hypebeast shoe. Anyone who has been around the sneaker game for awhile, especially involved in collecting Nike SB’s knows that Nike SB has been on a downturn for a minute now. This pair is a definite step in the right direction and I’m interested to see what Nike will hit us with next.

You dont have to be a hypebeast to like the gucci’s – premium materials, great colar combo: just a really nice n clean shoe. I despice hypebeasts but looove the gucci’s!
