Nike may be known for technical sports wear, but is also has a reputation for getting in touch with its artistic side. Think back to all the collaborations Nike has done with some of the greatest contemporary artists and graphic designers – Ben Drury, Futura, Stash – and the list goes on and on. Foot Locker opened up a new House of Hoops location in Dallas, TX, and to commemorate the grand opening of the store, Nike contacted Alex Fuentes, an astoundingly talented California-based illustrator with a penchant for fantastical art, to provide some great eye candy for the opening event. Check out the five pieces of work which immortalize some of Nike Basketball’s biggest names into comic-book super heros and you’ll see that Fuentes is one that Nike should hold onto. via BehanceNet.
