Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway and Kevin Garnett were never NBA teammates, but it turns out team chemistry isn’t a requirement for hybrid designs. The new Nike Air Max Wavy takes the swooping side panels from KG’s Air (Garnett) III and inverts them, then applies that unmistakable iridescent Foamposite finish. You realize all that influence comes from the Air Penny III upon examining the medial perforations and the sole’s anti-roll units. The resulting look is slightly brighter than the OG royal blue Foams or ‘Liquid’ Air Penny IIIs, and looks to be a perfect match for the current Orlando Magic Jerseys. These joints will hit retail in the refreshing ‘Arctic Blast’ colorway this July, and you’ll find them at Nike Basketball retailers like Foot Locker.
