To kick off the Independence Day weekend, a heat wave of multiple kinds weighed heavily on our shoulders. It was a hot week, with temperatures reaching above 100 degrees, but this winter is about be just as hot, as the Cool Grey XI was confirmed for a late December release. A great collection of upcoming Nike SB releases also came to light, with the fat tongue now a permanent figure. Sneaker News also brought you a first look at the Air Jordan Force Fusion 10, and as expected, the response was 50/50. A bunch of samples – both unreleased and awaiting – also came to light. Ken Griffey Jr’s legacy with Nike continues to live on, and the summer-time beach theme move forward with the Hamptons Air Force 1.
But the true heat came from LeBron James’ decision to move to South Beach. His decision – or any other possible outcome – will have a profound effect on the sneaker game considering he is considered to be the number-one guy for Nike Basketball. We got a detailed look at an all-white pair of the LeBron VIII as well as an all-black pair Bron wore during his Basketball camp in Akron.
