If you caught the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game on Monday, you might’ve seen Bo Jackson wearing the Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid in a bright two-tone blue colorway. That pair is part of a special collection of the Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid, paying homage to five legends of the game of baseball. Along with Bo Jackson is legendary 3rd-baseman Mike Schmidt, Mr. No-Hitter himself Nolan Ryan, “The Kid” Ken Griffey Jr., and currently active but HOF-bound Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols. Each colorway of the Trainer 1.2 Mid matches each player’s respective team uniform colors.
Sneaker News first showed you Griffey’s “600” logo with his trademark backwards cap, and each respective player has his own personalized logo as well. On Nolan Ryan’s pair, you will see the Nolan Ryan Express train with the 5/1/91 date – the day he threw his seventh no-hitter – printed above. Bo Jackson’s logo features “448”, a tribute to Bo’s mammoth 448-foot home-run off Rick Reuschel in the first inning of the ’89 MLB All-Star Game. Mike Schmidt’s logo is designed with his jersey number (20) while using the Phillies’ ’80’s logo as an inspiration. And finally, Albert Pujols’ logo labels Pujols “The Machine” for his inhuman production at the plate. The entire Legends Pack – minus the Schmidt colorway – just dropped at Eastbay and have also been spotted at some Niketown locations, so don’t miss out on this special “Legends Pack” of the Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid.
