The latest all-black-everythings from Nike Sportswear rely on multiple synthetic materials to achieve a study in contrasting luster. The new Nike Air Royalty Mid pictured above hints at taking its spot along the bevy of Foamposite and Foam-inspired kicks this year, but the real similarity is not in material, but in the use of a molded, matte finish upper. These and all of the Macaron Pack-like VT Royaltys are made using an injection technology called Vac Tech, which gives them a smooth one piece upper, a look that stands in stark contrast to glossy patent leather on the toe and ankle.
