The city of Detroit is considered as the home of American autos and the Motor City-based sneaker shop recently had a unique opportunity to work with New Balance and the MT580, recognized for its hard-nosed American values of manufacturing and labor. New Balance typically embarks on collaborative projects with sneaker shops of the Eastern Hemisphere so this Burn Rubber x New Balance collaboration is a rarity based on the fact that it takes place on our soil! Burn Rubber uses an auto-shop theme with their design, using a cold grey suede and mesh on the upper with a 3M ‘bumper’ and patent leather accents. Completed with a white midsole, gum bottom sole, and an argyle print on the inner lining, the Burn Rubber x New Balance MT580 takes on an added personal touch with the customized hangtag that features Burn Rubber’s mascot ‘The Chef’. These will be released on November 26th at Burn Rubber so check out the detailed shots after the jump because a perfectly executed ‘simple’ shoe is hard to come by these days!
