The mid-late 90’s classic Nike Air Max Uptempo 97 was re-issued in 2010 in a number of original colorways, much to the satisfaction of Nike heads around at that time. You just won’t find a Nike Basketball design like this, because today’s era of minimalism, lightness, and speed is a stark contrast to the full-length Air, TPU teardrops, and multi-layered upper construction. Fourteen years is indeed a long time and during that span Nike Basketball has evolved to what it is today, but it’s always nice to get a sniff of nostalgia in the form of a Nike Retro release.
