A little history: The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Homegrown’ was a collaborative release with Patta and State magazine of Amsterdam back in 2007, in which the publication teamed up with Nike to produce a limited run of Air Max 90s in a green/orange/white colorway (there’s also a reverse-blocked Hyperstrike version, but we’ll save that for another day), inspired by the recreational activity so prevalent in the magazine’s home country. Sneaker customizer JWDanklefs took that idea and ran with it on the Air Max Light, painting the entire upper with grass green, matching the orange inner lining and laces and the gum outsole to complete the ‘Homegrown’ appeal. It’s common for customizers to bring special edition colorways onto other models – the South Beach Jordan VI being a prime and recent example – and we say the Air Max Light ‘Homegrown’ is the best we’ve ever seen in concept and execution. There’s a nice detailed gallery below so take a look and let us know if you’d cop of these released.
