The opening games of the 2011 NBA Playoffs began on Saturday afternoon and ended last night with some surprising headlines. The defending champion Los Angeles Lakers gave up home-court advantage to the New Orleans Hornets, while the Orlando Magic and San Antonio Spurs also gave up their higher seedings by dropping the first games at home. Ray Allen gave the Boston Celtics a Game 1 victory with a go-ahead 3-pointer with seconds to go, while the OKC Thunder survived their opening match-up behind Kevin Durant’s 41 points.
