1988 Los Angeles Lakers Championship Team Game Worn Sneaker Lot

1988 Los Angeles Lakers Championship Team Game Worn Sneaker Lot

Lakers Game Worn Smrek 01

If you ever had thoughts of building your own sneaker museum (after being inspired by Jordan Geller’s ShoeZeum), here’s a good way to start. Up for auction is a one-of-a-kind and super-rare lot of twelve used sneakers that just so happened to be worn by twelve players of the ’88 NBA Finals Champions Los Angeles Lakers. We must disclose that the shoes are used (for around seven games) and that there are some stains on the upper (from champagne during the post-game celebration) as well as some writing/scribbling (autographs from the players). That star-studded ’88 Laker roster includes Magic Johnson, who wore the Converse ERX-400, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and his adidas high-tops, Michael Cooper and his Asics, James Worthy and his New Balance, and eight more Laker greats. And extra fun tidbit is that this memorabilia is being sold by Mike Smrek, a back-up center for that championship team. Check out the entire lot below and follow the auction progress from GreyFlannelAuctions.
