Since the return of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 in early 2009, we’ve seen a variety of Ken Griffey Jr.’s signature kicks retroed by Nike Sportswear, but none has stood out above the AGM1 in terms of significance or number. That probably won’t change with the release of the above pictured model, though you could pretty easily argue that without the 1995-born silhouette upon which it’s based, the Air Griffey Max may have never existed. The Nike Air Max Griffey Fury pairs a full-length Max Air cushion with the lines of the Air Diamond Fury courtesy of Hyperfuse construction and an overlay whose matte finish comes off a bit like Foamposite.
