A growing number of young ladies have co-opted the 1950’s pin-up look in recent years, so you can think of this new release from Nike SB like dressing the hottest twenty-six year-old you know up to match one of those iconic Marilyn Monroe photos. The Made for Skate x Nike SB Dunk Low Premium ‘Roller Derby’ reminds us that skateboards haven’t always been precision-crafted 7-ply slide machines. In fact, judging by their likeness on the insoles of this Skateboard Museum co-branded Dunk SB, they haven’t even always been safe to stand atop, but the fact that upon its steel rollerskate wheels sat a wooden plank is reflected by the texturized red suede underlay. A cracked white leather overlay is a nice finishing touch to this truly ‘retro’ SB Dunk, and you can see more images below in advance of the Friday, October 14th release at select skateshops including Primitive, who will have these in-store.
