The custom works of Mark Ong (SBTG) are particularly notable for its strong connections to Ong’s home country of Vietnam. Dating back to his earliest works with custom sneakers, Ong has implemented militarism in his designs, like the tiger camo and color profile seen in this latest work, but look closer and you’ll see a unique graphic on the upper. Look familiar? A co-inspiration of this design falls on the shoulders of Joy Division, an English rock band, and its debut album Unknown Pleasures; the graphic is taken from the album artwork of that classic album, giving these customs an added level of Mark Ong’s personality. Check out the extra images below and let us know what you think of this latest custom work.
