We’re inching closer and closer to the end of 2011, but we’ve got one road-bump before we reach New Year’s Eve – Black Friday! It’s definitely one of the biggest shopping days of the year for sneakerheads, and Sneaker News, as usual, as been keeping you in tune with all that’s been going on in the world of sneakers. In the Air Jordan corner, we gave you a look at a nice ’99 vs. ’12 comparison of Retro IVs, and over in LeBron’s corner, the ‘Watch The Throne’ PE really set things off. Our exclusive interview with Jason Petrie also shed some light on LeBron’s ninth signature shoe as well. The Zoom KD IV saw an official unveiling this week, with a discussion between KD and designer Leo Chang owning the spotlight. More basketball-related news came in the NCAA Feet recaps, which included Ohio State showing off their LeBron 9 PEs.
In non-basketball news, the Air Yeezy 2 in Zen Grey/Red surfaced (but not on Kanye’s feet). A nice preview of the Nike SB releases for the remainder of the year as well as 2012 made some headlines, and a few collaborations caught our attention, like the upcoming Staple x New Balance, UNDFTD x Stussy x HECTIC x New Balance, Gorillaz x Converse, and the Ronnie Fieg x Asics partnership. adidas continues its respectful heritage-based releases with ‘Made For Tokyo’ edition of the adidas Superstar 80’s. Celebrity Feet, while small in stature, generated some buzz as this week’s features included Kanye West, Jay-Z, and the eccentric Theophilus London. Another ‘list’ was a hot topic, as we got a look at the fifty best sneaker ad campaigns in history. Plenty more below, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this latest edition of Sneaker News Weekly Rewind!
