We already gave you a breakdown on the inspiration for Burn Rubber’s second go-round with New Balance, a two part pack that pays homage to the 9-5’ers that make Detroit tick. Delving deeper into the background of the two pairs of New Balance MT580’s is this video spot, which follows two characters on their way two work, members of the White Collar and Blue Collar, respectively. The parallel release dates (February 1st for the ‘Blue Collar’ and March 1st for the ‘White Collar) extend the metaphor a bit further, hitting on the first of the month-the day when the workforce is united in collective check-cashing. This sort of regional tribute has done wonders for New Balance in the past (think the Kennedy’s), so will Burn Rubber strike gold again? Let us know if you’re feeling these and be sure to check the video after the jump.
