Boat shoes have become so popular in recent years that it’s easy to forget this is a design that evolved out of a laceup moccassin about eighty years ago and hasn’t changed all that much since.  The materials are more durable and there are more attractive colors and hybrid designs than ever before, but few have thought to totally reinvent the wheel like Three Stripes did with this brand new model.  The adidas ClimaCool Boat Lace is similar to the CC Seduction we just showed you, but this model’s uniquely ventilated sole is designed to let fluids pass through and prevent waterlogging.  This in combination with a quick-drying upper makes for a technically superior design whose Water Grip traction is a little bit more advanced than the slits Paul Sperry cut into his shoes back in 1935.  Click through to see how this model’s updated aesthetic compares with Sperry’s traditional favorite and let us know if you’ll add the CC Boat Lace to your sneaker rotation now that they’re available from adidas.
