Sneaker News Weekly Rewind hits you once again with another cluster of the best sneaker headlines of the week, so why head anywhere else? Starting off: LeBron James won his first NBA Title this week, opening the doors for a potential Finals-centered release of the Nike LeBron 9. A bunch of Air Jordan IX’s got confirmed release dates as well, and a sick new colorway of the Total Foamposite Max opened our eyes in amazement. Nike SB shoeboxes have always added a nice punch to the otherwise orange/brown mix of Nike, but it seems that feelings around the new box have been mixed. A first look at the sick heel logo on the “What The Kobe” only raised the level of desire for the shoe, while a fellow Nike athlete in another sport took the time to unofficially debut his own signature shoe – the Nike Zoom Revis.
The Air Yeezy 2 continues to be a much-discussed topic as Roger Federer pulls of the Black/Solar Red pair while strolling around, while a look at some upcoming Air Force 1 Low Foamposite colorways for Spring 2013 raised some more AF1 awareness. Reebok’s retro game is about to get very strong for late 2012/early 2013, while adidas takes some heat as it faces the backlash of the misinterpreted ‘Handcuff’ Roundhouse Mids designed by Jeremy Scott. The New Balance 574 gets heavy focus in this week’s NB news, while two more Asics collaborations in Europe were teased. In basketball news, Nike+ unveiled the #GameOnWorld campaign as it gears up for the Lunar Hyperdunk Sport launch next Friday. Cleated PE’s were the hot topic for Air Jordan PE/Sample news, with Warren Sapp’s custom ’99’ Air Jordan XIs earning the most attention. Finally, the Air Max 90 was placed front and center for this week’s Classics Revisited segment, focusing on five great collaborations from the mid-2000’s. There’s plenty more to see, so check out Weekly Rewind below and stay up to date on all the big news stories!
