A recent episode of Vans’ ‘The Collaboratory’ focused on an upcoming release that represents perhaps the pinnacle of materials for the entire 2012 Off the Wall catalog. Chicago’s Horween Leather comes in with some absolutely delicious choices that add tremendous depth and character to a couple of classic skate models and a new boat shoe named after a frosty Puerto Rican treat. The Horween x Vans Era LX stands out thanks to its use of a pebbled texture on the mid panels, the toes and heels of which are crafted in the same richly marbled cowhide that make up the Mountain Edition Decon and the brand new Piragua. Look them over after the jump so you can tell us which came out best, and find these now at select retailers like Titolo.
