Nike Zoom Rookie – Varsity Red – Black – Tourmaline

Penny Hardaway once got on the ‘Memphis Express’ – that is, he wore this PE colorway of his Zoom Rookie back in 2011 for a celebrity All-Star game. Much like the ‘Memphis Blues’ aka the ‘Game Royal’, it appears that this once made-for-Penny will be flipped to a made-for-all, as the tonal ‘Varsity Red’ colorway will in fact hit retail sometime later this year. The Zoom Rookie buzz has slowed down a bit until Gentry confirmed a September release of the Galaxy version, but on top of the Galaxy and this Varsity Red release, there is in fact another ‘Premium’ Zoom Rookie build (priced at $215) awaiting us this September.
