The 574 is something like New Balance’s answer to Nike Sportswear’s Air Max 1, a classic runner at the foundation of the regular catalog whose impeccable lines and timeless appeal will keep them in the mix until we evolve past having feet.  NSW has tinkered with the Air Max genome quite a bit in recent years, but NB tends to stay truer to their original vision.  That means that on a pack like these New Balance 574 ‘Gradient’ makeups, instead of a cutting-edge computer assisted fabrication, we get suede in analogous colors that each offer one delicious if tiny slice of the color wheel.  Superb new blocking styles like these show that the NB574 still has so much to offer and you can decide which one looks best after seeing them individually below.  They’re only available at the New Balance flagships in New York and Boston, which could make these US574s one this year’s sleeper hits for the masters of understated excellence.
