Seinfeld? Kyrie Irving? Vegas? What do all of these things have in common? All three, and more, are featured in this week’s premier recap of sneakers – Sneaker News Weekly Rewind. We’ll start with a look at the Air Jordan 1 “Legends of the Summer” and the Jordan 6 Rings Bred, and follow that up with the “Pit Viper” Kobe 8, Kyrie Irving’s Hyperdunk 2013, and the “Mint Speckle” KD 6. Weatherman Foams were a big topic as well as a special hang-tag was revealed to come with the shoes, and other retro kicks like the Air Tech Challenge II turned heads as well. Celebs were big, with LeBron James wearing some Nike SB joints and Justin Timberlake rocking some Fear IIIs, while the Red October Yeezy 2s proved to be even more elusive as those who won the shoes may not receive them until February 2014.
Nike’s JUST DO IT slogan got a revamping of sorts with a brand new video urging athletes to strive for higher heights with a video clip featuring LeBron James. Nike SB enjoyed a good week with a look at September releases, Reebok did it really big out in Project LV, and Asics elbowed its way to the top headlines with the Extra Butter “Death List 5” collaboration. adidas unveiled a new duet of AMR joints, New Balance gave us a look at some September/October releases, and Vans had a wide array of info – namely the sick Palm Leaf Leather Slip-ons. Customs were huge yet again, with a great Neon 95-inspired LeBron X and an Air Jordan 3 “Dunk Contest” in the mix. With the Fear Pack dropping this weekend, Sneaker News took a look back at some major Pack-style releases of the past!
