If all the Nike Air Max 1 FB is to you is a pack of Maxes surrounding last year’s ‘Yeezy’ colorway, you’re missing the point. Yes, there’s some overlap in Nike Sportswear’s Futbol series and the Kanye West signature line that just blew up, but that has more to do with great minds thinking alike than any direct association. Take for instance this latest Air Max 1 FB, done in silver and Volt. This colorway doesn’t connect to any Air Yeezys, released or samples, the Mercurial Vapor IX that gave birth to the memorable ‘Mambacurial’ Kobe 8 or any other current soccer boot. These reach all the way back to 2002 for the first Mercurial Vapor cleats as worn by Ronaldo en route to the 2002 World Cup title.
