Over the last two weeks, we saw a sudden influx of Air Jordan Retro colorways flood the social media feeds. This is a direct result of Jordan Brand’s #FlightClub initiative, which involves a select group of “influencers” and voices on Instagram to help spread the word on some upcoming heat. The Jordan shoes that were revealed over the last ten days involved a great set of “Sport Blue” Retros, some new Air Jordan IIIs, and one of the cleanest Air Jordan 14 Retros to date.
We’ve grouped here all of those Fall 2014 Air Jordan Retro releases, with some extra description to help you get in touch with the concepts behind the colorways. Some have an underlying plot behind them, while others are just a mix of great colors that complement one another. Check it out here, let us know which of the following you’re into, and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more on the Jordan Brand #FlightClub program.
Look out for these seven Air Jordan Retro releases to begin hitting stores this Fall.
Air Jordan 14 “Sport Blue”
Color: Wolf Grey/White-Sport Blue
Style Code: 487471-004
Release Date: 08/02/14
Price: $170
The Air Jordan 14 is set for a return in 2014, and we’ve already seen the “Thunder” colorway circulate around the web. Joining the fray is this new Grey/Blue colorway as part of the unofficial “Sport Blue” theme. Is it too similar to the “Graphites” that dropped in 2011?
Air Jordan 3 “Sport Blue”
Color: Black/Sport Blue-Wolf Grey
Style Code: 136064-007
Release Date: 08/16/14
Price: $170
Another “Sport Blue” colorway to release in August is this Air Jordan 3. Let’s be real though – this is pretty much a “flipped” version of the original True Blue joints.
Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue”
Color: White/Sport Blue-Black
Style Code: 384664-107
Release Date: 08/30/14
Price: $170
Cross another off the list of OG releases that have yet to Retro: the Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” is returning on August 30th.
Air Jordan 3 “Wolf Grey”
Color: Wolf Grey/Metallic Silver-Black-White
Style Code: 136064-004
Another new Air Jordan 3 is this “Wolf Grey” version that looks like a toned down version of the 5Lab3. Hit with Metallic Silver and Black accents, the Air Jordan 3 “Wolf Grey” looks like a no-brainer from our seats.
Air Jordan 1 KO High OG
Style Code: 638471-007
Jordan Brand brings back another OG colorway of the KO in the “Black/Royal” colorway. If you missed out on last year’s Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, consider this a nice consolation prize.
Air Jordan 14 “Ferrari”
Release: Fall 2014
What many may overlook is that the Air Jordan 14 was designed with Michael Jordan’s Ferrari in mind. Tinker’s design, seen on MJ’s feet for just one and a half games during the ’98 Finals, makes a return with a full red suede upper, carbon fiber midsoles mimicking the supercar’s body kit, and a yellow Jumpman logo that is a clear nod to the Italian car marker’s iconic logo.
Air Jordan 3Lab5 “Black/Metallic”
Release: Fall 2014
Agree or disagree: this “Black/Metallic” colorway should have been the debut release of the Air Jordan Elements series. Taking inspiration from the OG “Black/Metallic” release, this 3Lab5 makes use of the signature Black-on-Silver shark’s teeth on the midsole while going tonal black elephant print on the upper.
