After securing LeBron James for $90M, Nike wouldn’t settle for anything short of iconic for the High Schooler’s first signature silhouette. So, they gave the nod to famed designer Tinker Hatfield for some guidance, and what resulted was the Nike Air Zoom Generation – a sneaker that slyly referenced LeBron’s H2 Hummer controversy and was lightweight to support the speed of a young LeBron. With all great sneakers comes a preliminary phase of some sort, and this all black wear-test initially previewed in our Classics Revisited returns for another look. The sneaker is relevant for the obvious displaced Swoosh on the heel, but also due to how the ballistic nylon is pair with a butter suede throughout. While we never saw the ominous black and chrome colorway in a retail release of the first LeBrons either, you can see more images after the click and grab this rare find today via sneakerarena on eBay.
