Happy Halloween! While adults stateside are gearing up with costumes in attempt to be kids again, sneaker fandom always deals with another type of treat – the annual special edition spooky rendition of your favorite silhouette. Nike got involved by giving us an Air Max “Halloween” Pack. Reebok gave us an intimidating “Freaks of the Night” Reebok The Blast, and New Balance dressed up their NB MT580 in a premium dark green suede with accents of red in a look reminiscent of Freddy Krueger’s tattered sweater. The brand isn’t done just yet though, as the New Balance 572 returns in what’s also being billed as a festive collection. There isn’t too much Halloween about either choice other than the fact that they’re available on the day, but we have no complaints. Both NB572’s utilize a shade of grey suede as the base while white speckled midsoles add a clean finish. Throw in vibrant accents like Volt and yellow (each featuring a different color blocking) and you can dress up in a pair even when it’s not a costume.
