The Head of adidas U.S. Discusses Kanye, the Nike Lawsuit, & More

Mark King Adidas President Us Interview

adidas had a tough time competing for the U.S. market over the years, but that doesn’t mean they’re not making an effort. Mark King, the president of adidas Group North America, recognizes what’s ahead and he’s make the proper steps to elevate the brand’s presence in the U.S. by bringing in key advertising and design jobs to their North American HQ (the global HQ is in Germany) and signing a ton of endorsement contracts in the NFL and MLB. This is largely an “industry” move, but the sneakerhead community will feel the effects of this Western emphasis in a number of ways, specifically in the Originals and basketball side, and in an interview with Biz Journals, King gives his thoughts on the effect of Kanye West, the plans of the Brooklyn design studio headed by three former Nike designers, and much more. Read the entire piece at Biz Journals if you’re interested and let us know what your outlook is for adidas in 2015.
