Japanese menswear retailer monkey time conspires with Asics to drop a very dramatic version of the Gel Lyte V in black and white. The film noir inspired version of the classic runner features the same color palette of the dramatic mystery and suspense films popular in the 1940s and ’50s: black, white, and grey. The Gel Lyte V is presented in a full premium leather upper, with the majority of the sneaker in white, backed with black at the heel and a speckled midsole. Preview the monkey time x Asics Gel Lyte V “Lights and Shadows” here in a film noir setting, and look for them to release at select global Asics retailers on May 9th.
