Nike Made The Cortez Into A Chukka

Nike Classic Cortez Mid Chukka

After we saw Nike Sportswear bring back the Nike Cortez in a few OG colorways earlier this year, the brand decided to give the true OG sneakerheads a gift by bringing back the running classic in its true original form. That doesn’t mean that the Cortez has seen the last of Nike Sportswear’s propensity for remixing, as the introduction of the above Nike Cortez Chukka proves. Reminiscent of what the Swoosh has done with the Nike Air Internationalist in past autumns, the upper sees an extended mid form while the rest of the model remains rather unchanged. The extended height is definitely jarring considering the Cortez’s place in running history, but what do you think of the latest take on Forrest Gump’s go-to? Stay tuned for a release date in the coming days and we’ll keep you updated right here on Sneaker News.
