Tinker Hatfield was one of the 90s busiest sneaker designers, as his reign was as far as it was influential. Not only did he have his hands full with Michael Jordan’s signature line but the earliest of ACG classics like the Nike Mowabb were claiming dominance in a totally different field around the same time. Today we get a look at a women’s exclusive that somehow manages to successfully blend the Air Jordan 7 and Nike ACG Mowabb together for the Nike Mobb Mid. The upper is clearly influenced by Mike’s seventh signature from 1992, as a suede upper sees numerous panels pay homage to the shoe Mike won his second championship with. The Mowabb references are a bit more clear-cut here, thanks to an extended ankle collar of the neoprene variety and a slimmed down heel cage. Nike even adds a Free Chukka-based outsole for good measure. Available today for $120 at shops like Heist NY.
