These “Denim” Air Jordan 1s Won’t Release Just Yet

Air Jordan 1 Acid Wash Denim Sample

Nothing says the 80s like acid washed denim and the Air Jordan 1. Both were style icons in their own right albeit in the completely different categories of basketball and punk rock, but combining the two? That’s what was showcased at Jordan Brand’s latest retail store: Jordan Station 23 in Chicago this past weekend, as the iconic first Jordan model was transformed by Nike Sportswear’s Senior Designer Gemo Wong. The upper sees a rigid ripped denim complete with the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle branding of 24K gold on the Wings logo while contrast stitching adds a unique Levi’s feel to the milky outsole. You might remember the Air Jordan 1 “Father’s Day” released last year featuring a denim construction in a humorous nod to Mike’s affection toward dad jeans, but this take furthers the jean material to a different level. This is just a sample thus far, but stay tuned for a better look at the release slate in the coming days and let us know if you’re a fan of this denim AJ1 by taking your thoughts to the comments section.
