Detroit’s favorite sneaker shop Burn Rubber pays tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. ahead of his birthday on May 21st with the Reebok Phase 1 “Detroit Playas”. Constructed in premium pink nubuck and gator-textured leather, the shoe references when Biggie showed love to Detroit with the lyrics in his hit song Hypnotize: “…Stink. Pink gators, my Detroit playas.” Burn Rubber’s addition to Reebok Classic’s Year of Court collabs utilizes the Phase 1 tennis silhouette with the luxurious and stylish pink gator makeover, completed with tonal Burn Rubber branding on the tongue and a gum rubber outsole.
