We’re hours away from Game 1 of the 2016 NBA Finals and the biggest news in the sneaker world is: Matthew Dellavedova is getting his own signature sneaker. The Australian has signed with China’s own Peak Sports and will collaborate on the Delly 1 in the near future. Delly made a name for himself throughout last year’s playoffs, stepping up in place of an injured Kyrie Irving to become arguably the Cavaliers’ second-best player throughout the NBA Finals. For the most part, Dellavedova has rocked team varieties of the Kobe signature line since entering the league. He had this to say about inking a deal with the upstart basketball brand:

“PEAK Australia approached me nearly two years ago with the idea of introducing a basketball shoe into the Australian market. From there, talks became more serious in the past year, and PEAK worked hard on developing a shoe that offers the type of reliability and performance that drives me every day.”

PEAK Australia Managing Director Greg Bickley revealed that the Delly 1 will be a low-cut performance model and is slated to release later this summer exclusive to the Australian market and said, “Matthew was very specific about what he expected from the performance of the shoe and we were delighted to be able to work with him to achieve a signature range for Matthew as a champion Australian NBA player”. The deal is slated to last 3 years.
