BEAMS and mita sneakers Join Forces For An ASICS GEL-Lyte III

Two top Japanese sneaker retailers team up with ASICS for a very special version of the GEL-Lyte III. The three-way collab from the Japanese sneaker teams takes inspiration from the Japanese souvenir jacket, a trendy fashion accessory this year being produced by high-fashion brands down to H&M. The famous jackets usually adorned with embroidered tigers and other Japanese scenes are reinterpreted in sneaker form for this GEL-Lyte III, constructed with an all-black quilted textile base with suede paneling and a camo marbled outsole. “Japan” is embroidered in text on each heel, with a tiger head and Japanese text patches on the rear. BEAMS and mita branding is also found embroidered down each tongue, while the insoles feature co-branding above the graphic of camo and mita’s signature chain-link fence. The BEAMS x mita x ASICS GEL-Lyte III “Souvenir Jacket” releases June 11th at both retailers.
